Small enough to sit comfortably in the palm of your hand, this pocket-sized notebook is designed for ideas, reminders and little observations that appear while you are on the move.
Its cleverest detail is hidden along the spine: a miniature pencil is stored directly with the notebook, so there is no need to carry a separate pen. Slip it into a pocket, pencil case or everyday bag and you always have somewhere to write.
Made in Japan by DAIGO, a Japanese stationery maker specialising in notebooks, diaries and paper goods, the design reflects the company’s characteristic focus on practical analogue stationery. Even at this tiny scale, the notebook contains 144 pages of 5mm square-grid paper, while the pencil has been specifically designed to accompany the compact format.
The covers give the series its distinctly Japanese identity. Each features one of five kanji — 愛 (Ai / Love), 夢 (Yume / Dream), 美 (Bi / Beauty), 祭 (Matsuri / Festival), or 桜 (Sakura / Cherry Blossom) — accompanied by its romanised reading and English meaning.
Rather than using an ordinary typeface, the kanji were specially hand-drawn by a brush-lettering designer, then reproduced on the cover with foil stamping. It is a small detail, but one that turns an everyday pocket notebook into something unmistakably Japanese.
