LITTLE THINGS FROM JAPAN | HANDMADE SEASONAL MINIATURES | OZAWA

Small in size, full of character — a playful collection of Japanese-made miniatures designed to bring a little warmth to your desk, shelf or everyday space.

Description

Sometimes the smallest objects are the ones that make a space feel most personal.

Little Things from Japan brings together a changing selection of miniature objects chosen simply because they are charming to look at, pleasant to hold, and unmistakably full of character.

The collection begins with three very different pieces: a wooden Santa inspired by Japanese kokeshi, a tiny wooden snowman, and a soft zodiac horse created for the Japanese Year of the Horse.

There is no single theme connecting them — and that is part of their charm. Each is a small discovery from Japan, made to sit quietly on a desk or shelf, accompany a seasonal display, or simply be picked up and enjoyed from time to time.

Variants

Kokeshi Santa

A warm Japanese interpretation of Father Christmas, shaped in the simple rounded form associated with traditional kokeshi dolls. Made from wood and finished in deep festive red, the natural grain remains visible through Santa's face and beard.

The piece comes from Usaburo Kokeshi, whose kokeshi work has received Japan's Prime Minister's Award.

Mini Wooden Snowman

A tiny 35mm wooden snowman with a rounded, almost pebble-like form. Its natural wood finish, hand-drawn expression and dark green scarf give it a particularly gentle character.

Small enough to sit almost anywhere — or pair it with the Kokeshi Santa for a playful Christmas scene.

2026 Zodiac Horse

A miniature horse created to celebrate 2026, the Year of the Horse in the Japanese zodiac tradition.

Made with a softly textured fabric finish and decorated with a red plum blossom, each horse is individually handmade, giving every piece subtle variations of its own.
