Discovered at Kyukyodo in Tokyo, Dokusho Zanmai (読書三昧, "Immersed in Reading") is an incense set thoughtfully composed for moments of reflection.

The set centres around Kyukyodo's classic Old Mountain Sandalwood incense, prized for its warm, elegant aroma that has long accompanied traditional Japanese interiors. Each incense stick is stored inside a clear glass tube, helping preserve both its fragrance and delicate condition while adding a contemporary contrast to the otherwise traditional presentation.

Everything is housed inside a beautifully crafted paulownia wood box. The understated black-and-gold lid, inspired by autumn grasses and resting birds beneath the moon, quietly evokes the peaceful atmosphere that the incense itself is intended to create.
