YOUSEKI MIKI ART POSTCARDS | JAPANESE CALLIGRAPHY & ILLUSTRATED MESSAGES | 御木幽石
£3.25A small piece of Japanese art, created to carry a few thoughtful words.
DESCRIPTION
Words, illustration and a little warmth.
Created by Japanese calligrapher and wa-style lettering artist Youseki Miki (御木幽石), these postcards combine expressive handwritten Japanese calligraphy with gentle, often playful illustrations.
Miki’s work is particularly recognisable for its small Jizō figures, seasonal flowers, lucky motifs and softly painted characters. Rather than treating calligraphy as something formal or distant, his work gives written words a warm and approachable character.
Each design carries its own message — sometimes encouraging, sometimes celebratory, sometimes simply a quiet observation about everyday life.
More than a postcard.
Although made in postcard format, we selected these pieces less as travel stationery and more as small works of message art.
Send one with a personal note, place one inside a gift, or simply keep and frame a favourite design. Their compact size makes them an easy way to bring a small piece of contemporary Japanese calligraphy and illustration into everyday life.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
About Youseki Miki 御木幽石

His work brings together handwritten words and softly expressive illustration, often featuring Jizō figures, flowers, animals and familiar symbols of good fortune.
